World Rowing Masters Regatta Lake Bled Slovenia Sep 2026

A group of 10 West End Masters rowers headed over to the iconic Lake Bled in Slovenia last month to race at the World Rowing Masters Regatta.

It started with a stunning training day on a picture perfect lake, then transformed into a couple days of lightning, heavy rain, racing delays (meaning we had one race in the dark) and some races cancelled. We battled on through those conditions to come out the other side into sunshine again.

We raced for West End in 25 events over 5 days, to come home with 5 gold medals, 7 seconds and 9 thirds. Only golds are awarded at this regatta and we’re happy to report that all 10 of us came home with some very heavy and chunky gold medals!

It was such an epic week and I encourage all of you to continue on with a lifetime of rowing so you can race at masters regattas all over the world (only 1000m!!)

West End wins were in the:

🥇Women’s B4x- Amanda Badger, Brit Smith, Belinda Ryan, Cordelia Kerr

🥇Women’s D4x- Carolyn Steele, Suz Goldsbury, Belinda, Cordelia

🥇Women’s A2x Amanda, Brit

🥇Women’s D8+ Megan Mackintosh [CAMC], Tracy Hawkes [CAMC], Carolyn, Suz, Cordelia, Belinda, Gigi Green, Emma Gregory + Suzanne Nottage

🥇Mixed D8+ Amanda, Brit, Brent Smart, Gary Neill, Andreas Kral [Austria], Nick Crosbie [NELC], Emma, Suz + Suzanne
