Head of the Yarra 2017

West End is sending a number of crews to this historic 8.5k eights head race in Melbourne, Australia in November this year.

FOR CLUB ROWERS:

To help drive your winter training we will be sending our top 8+, mens or womens, to race the Head of the Yarra in November.  FLIGHTS and ACCOMMODATION PAID, you only need to contribute $200 towards costs and pay your own food and expenses. Selection of the top 8+ crew will happen the end of September and will be based on;

  • Individual weight adjusted erg scores – 5km,
  • Those who have shown commitment to the winter training programme,
  • The crew that is performing the best on the water,
  • To be eligible all rowers need to be a WERC member and be committed to rowing the full season through to NZ Champs in Feb 2018.

If you are a Club rower, beginning winter training in June, and are interested in being in the top 8+ to race the HOY register below. Registration needs to be in by 31 July 2017.

FOR MASTERS ROWERS:

We will be sending two masters crews to compete. Depending on those who are wishing to attend we will then decide on the age group/s and womens/mens/mixed combinations. To row masters grade you must be 27+ years of age.
Please note: Masters crews are to pay their own way to this event.
